I am back!!

Gosh, it has been almost one month since I have posted anything! Perhaps all the snowshoveling has kept me busy:) We are having one of the snowiest winters in 25 years in New England, I don't really mind the snow, it really is pretty this year and you will see by the pictures below just how much of it we have!! We do miss being able to get outside for some good old sunshine and vitamin D....it is starting to stay lighter out in the afternoon finally so I am hopeful that we will see signs of spring, well, maybe by March!!

Nora is getting to be such a big girl..she is trying to say more words now and make her needs known...we are still working on some basic "manners" such as "please don't hit Mommy upside the head" in public but it's a SLOW process:0 There are somedays when I can laugh about it and other days when it is just plain exhausting! Nora has mastered going down the stairs and not on her belly, feet first which is a bit terrifying at first but we have learned that this child is going to do things her way and there really is no discussion about it!

We are looking forward to having our last post placement visit with our agency in March and hopefully we will be able to finalize Nora's adoption early spring...that is when we take an oath to love her "forever and ever." For the last six months we have not had legal guardianship of Nora, that has belonged to our agency but if you ask us she is all OURS....almost.

Some pictures of Nora and her big brother Owen playing in our huge snow piles...from the day we came home with Nora she has smiled and giggled the most for Owen...he's such a great kid.

Happy thoughts of spring

  1. I am a little jealous of your snow pictures... especially the one with the sled! :)
I can't believe Nora has been home 6 months already! The vision of her hitting you out in public makes me LOL, although I am sure it is not that funny for you :). We have 2 very stong willed girls, don't we? She looks like she is right where she belongs. I am so happy to see her smiles and can't wait to hear that everything is all "official" even though it feels like it has been that way to us all along. Happy 6 months home to Nora (and you too)!
